Matteo Piazza studied with Guido Parini (CH) during five years. Afterwards he studied with Jeff Boudreaux (USA), Jojo Mayer (CH), Bruce Becker (USA), Less Wise (USA).
In 1994, at the "American Institute of Music" in Vienna, he obtained the "Professional Diploma", the highest recognition delivered by the school.
Master Classes with Steve Smith, Les Wise, Jojo Mayer, Mike Stern, Scott Anderson, John Patitucci, Walter Calloni.
Actually he's following a perfecting course with Giorgio di Tullio (I).

He plays with several bands, for TV Shows and he works as "Session Man" in recording studios and live.
He's regulary playing around 150 gigs per year.
He is director of the "Accademia Ticinese di Musica " of Locarno (ATM) where he's teaching Drums, Rythm Class, Musical Initiation and Music Ensemble.
He wrote a book for rythmic solfeggio.
He's an active Member of the Swiss Society of Music Pedagogic.
He was asked to be Art Director of several under the most known live Music Clubs in the south part of Switzerland.
He's "endorser" for Tamburo Drums, Ufip Cymbals, Aquarian drum Heads, Lantec drum Sticks.
In september 2006 he founded a new Music School in Lugano: the "Centro Studi Musicali della Svizzera Italiana" CSM (www.studimusicali.ch).
